In his free First time, Nick runs his own web design firm as well as several not for profit websites, always on the lookout for new technologies that might help enhance them.

Nick can be found in school, online, or running; but the easiest way to get to know him is to look him up hockey jerseys on Cheap Ray Ban Sunglasses about.me or Linkedin.

In addition to MY-Say, Nick helped design websites for the local Anne Arundel County SECAC (Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee), his former Boy Scout Troop, Troop 2214, and American Social Sports, run by Jimmy Johns franchise owner Kyle Murphy.

From Nick:

Dear reader,

Welcome to MY-Say! The online ‘zine of choice for middle school students by middle school students.

I’ve designed websites on several different platforms; the reason I mention this is because the Anne Arundel County SECAC’s website as well as my own troop’s website were built on the Google Sites platform. My own website and MY-Say Cheap Jordans are built on the WordPress platform. Google Sites is more of a “What you see is what you get” system while WordPress actually allows the developer to delve into the code and customize Wholesale Jerseys it based on a client’s specific needs.

WordPress was chosen as the platform for MY-Say because it provided the greatest flexibility, ease of use, and scalability. When I cheap jerseys create a website for a client, my goal is to make sure he/she can update the website without assistance from myself. Because raw HTML is somewhat hard for the average person to learn, Content Management Systems (CMS’s) were developed in order to allow the average person the ability to update a website. Of all the content management systems in existence today, WordPress is the most user friendly. If you’ve ever used WordPress.com to publish a blog, you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

Not only is WordPress easy to learn, it’s also highly extensible via packages of code called plugins. In order for any content management system to be successful, there has to be a way for third-party developers to easily add features. This can be compared to how Apple allows developers to create apps for its many devices running iOS. WordPress allows developers to add features via plugins; WordPress.org features a vast, searchable plugin directory that allows users to easily add plugins to their WordPress site. MY-Say utilizes several third-party plugins to add features such as polls, faster page load times, and built-in image editing.

Since Automattic, Inc. (the company who manages WordPress) has made WordPress open source, I was freely able to modify it to fit MY-Say’s needs. The platform has been completely rebranded and given a customized user experience tailored for MY-Say writers. I hope your stay on the site is enjoyable; the middle school students writing these articles have a unique talent unparalleled even to some students on Broadneck High School’s student newspaper.

Cheers,

Nick
