Polar bears are a beloved animal across the globe. Hardly anyone dislikes or tries to hunt this majestic beast. But even under these circumstances, we are hurting the polar bear and its habitat severely.

The polar bears’ main food source comes from seals, which usually live somewhere beneath the ice. This causes them to have to take a breath in open ice areas, a perfect place for polar bears to prowl. Recently, due to habitat loss caused by global warming, the ice has taken longer to form . This causes seals to stay away longer therefore the polar bears have long periods of fasting. This will cause them to either die of starvation or tiredness. Sometimes female polar bears aren’t strong enough to carry their babies causing the babies to either die of starvation or get eaten by a hungry polar bear.

Most global warming is caused by humans overusing electricity which causes smoke to gradually harm the ozone layer. You can still do something to help. Ride your bike instead of driving next time you go to a friend’s house or go outside instead of playing on electronics. All in all, just preserve electricity and we can work together to save the magnificent polar bear.
