Stevie Wonder was born in Saginaw on May 13, 1950. He was born prematurely causing Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) leaving him blind. His full name is Stevland Hardaway Morris; his parents are Lula Mae Hardaway and Calvin Judkins. Stevie’s mother left his father with her six children when Stevie was only four. He went to Michigan School for the Blind. When Stevie was 11, he sang his own composition “Lonely Boy” and got paid $2.50 a week for it. Later on in his life, he got into a car accident and lost all sense of smell. Now he has nine children and 25 Grammies.
